My master's thesis amplifies how queer movement leaders organized communities in North Carolina, Georgia, and South Carolina across three decades and exposes the creative tactics used to form the concept and notion of being "here and queer" in the U.S. South.

This paper provides a historical analysis of anti-miscegenation laws through the case of Loving v. Virginia (1967) and homophobia through the legal case Baker v. Nelson (1972).
