Story of Self

What is my story and how do others develop their own personal narrative and discover their drive and purpose? This talk uses my life story as a way to discuss Blackness, coming out as LGBTQ, and activism.

Incorporates Black Feminist Theory and Queer Theory to foster dialogue about how to be a social justice advocate and learn about the power and privilege we have in our lives.

Black History

Black History is central to understanding the fabric of the United States. This focuses on the instrumental leaders, moments, and legacies that Black women, queer, trans, and cisgender men have moved in our pursuit of freedom.

Environmental Justice

Discussion about capitalism and its political, environmental, and social ramifications. It evokes action and highlights the models of a circular economy.

Social and Racial Justice

Anti-Oppression

What does anti-oppression mean? This is an opportunity to show how we move away from performative allyship and into pro-Black, pro-queer, pro-immigrant, pro-people stance? 

Anti-Racism in the Workplace

Map out ways to develop an organization's efforts to amplify and provide leadership opportunities for Black and Brown people.

Unpacking Gender

Centers dialogue around gender identity, gender expression, and how gender is performed. It also covers the impacts of sexism, misogyny, and transphobia.

Queer Southern Strategy

Highlights the legacies of LGBTQ southerners and strategies folks have used to survive and thrive in the U.S. South.

Activism

Explores the history, strategy, and work of global activists and how to use your strengths to move social justice work. 

Queer History

Map out ways to develop an organization's efforts to amplify and provide leadership opportunities for Black and Brown people.

Intersectionality

Focuses on Kimberly Crenshaw's coined term "intersectionality" and how to apply this legal framework understand and navigate spaces.

People's History

This focuses on significant moments in U.S. History during Reconstruction up until the late 20th century. This is an opportunity to learn and understand the continued push and struggle for democracy in the United States.
